Are you appearing for the end semester exam of B.Pharm course? Feeling nervous about the exam? Do you find MCQs confusing & overwhelming??

If yes, I am here with a fullproof plan to crack the exam successfully. So stay tuned for the tips which can prove your life saver this exam season.

  •               Practice Multiple Choice Questions MCQs & Solve them Wisely
1.      MCQs can really get you good marks if your study is thorough and conceptual. For getting hold on MCQs, you should regularly practice MCQs from each unit while the unit is being taught. It’s always better to know the concept and get to the answer straight away. But in case you are not sure enough, you should definitely use some techniques like deletion technique and intelligent guessing for reaching the answer. Deletion technique is a method where you keenly observe the options and you eliminate the options which are clearly out of question. Just look at the image below and you will understand what I mean by this...

2.     You must select not only a correct answer but also the most appropriate one. So read all the options carefully. Take a moment and think before you mark your option because many times you can’t reverse it. So better safe than sorry!

3.     While solving MCQs, first you go for the ones you are very sure about, then again start going through the remaining. There is a good science behind it. Even though you have skipped a question as it seemed difficult and jumped consciously to the next one, your subconscious mind has not. Your brain keeps on working on that difficult question at the subconscious level. So the chances are more that when you come back to that question in the next round, you can solve it. After three rounds most of the questions should be solved.  The remaining few may need smart guessing now. Use the information and insights gained through each round to solve the questions in the next round. If you follow this process, you will observe that your brain also starts working fast and more logically as you go further.

4.     Time management during MCQ test is also a very important aspect. You have to stay ahead of time and not with it. Allot minimum time for easier ones so that you can utilize remaining time for the difficult ones.

5.     Learn to relax in between. Take a few deep breaths and release the tension if any. It will improve your performance. A relaxed yet sharp mind can get you best results.

  • Smart attempt is the key
6.  It is better to go through the question paper first and then select the most comfortable questions for you to attempt. Comfortable in the sense, you should be very well versed with the topic and can produce sufficient write up for prescribed marks.

7. You will face short answer questions for 5 marks and long answer questions for 10 marks. You can be brief yet comprehensive for short answer questions, means you can just touch all the aspects of that topic for a short answer; but need to be very deep and inclusive for a long answer question. So selection of question can be vital in this regard.

8. One more point worth mention here is first attempt only the compulsory number of questions and then go for extra ones if time permits. Attempting all of them will leave you Jack of all trades, master of none. So better work on and complete required questions as a masterpiece.

With these tips, exam seems like a cakewalk.
So friends, which tip is your favourite?
